DSL Modem Settings


This is where you can find useful information to set up your DSL modem to access our Woosh broadband network. Click on one of the following for details:

  • DSL generic modem settings
  • Dynalink RTA 1025W / 1320 – settings
  • Useful Links for non-Woosh supplied modems / routers
DSL Modem Settings

Please enter the following information into your modem / router should you be prompted to do so.

If using the links for third party modem support from the links page, please ensure you enter the details given here and not the username / password details provided in the tutorial.

Username yourusername@woosh.co.nz

This should be your normal Woosh username, and it should be entered in the form of an email address. For example, MaryJane@woosh.co.nz
Password yourpassword

this should be the same password you use for setting up your Woosh Bundle of Joy account
Encapsulation PPPoA, VC MUX
(Protocol 'PPPoverATM', also known as 'PPPoA', Multiplexing Method ‘VC-Mux’ or VC Based) RFC 2364
PVC 0
VPI 0
VCI 100
Service Category UBR without PCR (peak cell rate)
Modulation: Automatic/Multimode

Or

ADSL:  G.dmt/G992.1
ADSL2: G.992.3
ADSL2+: G.992.5
ADSL2/ADSL2+ where available on the Telecom network. Automatic/Multimode will connect with the fastest available modulation.
MTU Between 1462 and 1500
DNS Auto Assign
Or
Primary DNS:    202.74.207.253
Secondary DNS: 202.74.207.254

Dynalink RTA 1025W / 1320 – Settings

STEP 1: On your computer, open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Firefox).
Type http://192.168.1.1 into the Address Bar. Press Enter.

STEP 2: When prompted, enter:

             Username: admin
             Password: admin

Click OK.

STEP 3: Click on the Quick Start icon on the Top of the router interface

STEP 4: Click on the Quick Setup option from the Left side of the router interface.

STEP 5: By default the modem will automatically scan & detect the Internet Connection (PVC).
Click Next to continue.

The Auto Scan should detect the PVC within 30 seconds, check that it detected PVC(0/100): Detected as PPPoA VC MUX. If the Auto Scan fails or detects incorrect settings: Please restart the Quick Setup and un-tick Automatically Scan internet connection, then manually enter VPI 0, VCI 100.

Click Next to continue.

STEP 6: Click Next for next step.

STEP 7: Click Next for next step

STEP 8: Enter the following information:

             PPP User Name: yourusername@woosh.co.nz
             PPP Password: yourpassword

Click Next for next step.

STEP 9: Click Next for next step.

STEP 10: Click Finish. The Modem will now save the settings then reboot and attempt to connect.
