Thank you for responding to our request that you upgrade your wireless modem.
We are currently undergoing a network software upgrade which allows us to make
improvements to your service more easily.
NOTE: This is for Woosh wireless modems
only, and does not apply to any DSL equipment.
If you have a SOC2 modem (the power button is red), you do not need to upgrade.
If you are running Windows Vista or a MAC please see FAQs at the bottom of the
page.
Woosh has released three types of modems: Woosh launched with a modem
known as P1C (housed in a metal case) followed by a newer model P1D (in a
plastic case) as well as a PC Card. The latest software upgrade is 5.2.5.65.

To find out your modems firmware version, ensure your modem is directly
connected to your computer, and go to the Woosh Dialler, then in the device tab
look for the Application field in the Modem Software section. If you find the
version number is below 5.2.5.65 e.g. 5.2.1.16a, then you must upgrade.
If you are using two or more modems to connect with Woosh, make sure that you
check and upgrade all your modems.
Below are the instructions for downloading the modem upgrade tool, which is a
wizard that can handle all three types of modem, for all supported connection
cables. The whole process will only take a few minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions and Help
What operating system the upgrade tool will work on
The Windows upgrade tool will work with the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Microsoft Windows ME
- Microsoft Windows 98SE
The wizard is scanning for the modem and cant find it
In step 2 the wizard tries to detect the modem or PC card, it can find it if it
was connected properly and directly with a Woosh USB cable or Woosh Ethernet or
if it was a Woosh PC card plugged into the Laptop PCMCIA slot or another
application like a Woosh dialler or a PPPoE dialler (Linux and Mac users have
commonly used PPPoE)
 |
-
It will not find the modem if it is plugged through a router or a Woosh voice
gateway or Woosh Netgear Wireless router.
-
Make sure that you are connecting to the modem or PC card directly from the
computer running the Wizard i.e. not sharing though an Ethernet hub or switch.
-
Make sure you are not connected to the internet with the Woosh dialler by
opening the dialler (in the system tray which is typically at the bottom right
corner of the screen), then disconnect and close the dialler.
-
Make sure you are not connected using Microsoft dial-up networking or any PPPoE
dialler.
-
If you have checked that the modem is directly connected, and it is still not
being detected, close the upgrade tool, then remove the power cable from the
modem and press the power button once. Make sure that all lights turn off, then
re-insert the power cable and once the lights flash on again, start the upgrade
tool again (NOTE: for the PC card, take it out of the PCMCIA slot, then
re-insert it and check the lights turn on before starting the upgrade tool
again).
If you have a firewall installed
Because the Upgrade tool is a program, your firewall may query you as whether
