The Woosh Story

Woosh was founded in 2003 and offers 

  • Wireless broadband and calling products, which it provides through its own independent wireless network. 

  • Fixed line broadband and landline products, which it provides through wholesale partnerships. 

Woosh’s wireless internet products are the most price competitive available on the market. The wireless network is based on 130 cell sites in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and the Southland region, providing coverage to more than 200,000 households. The wireless internet and phone products are provided via a TDD-CDMA network.

Woosh has been involved in a highly successful partnership with Venture Southland which has provided wireless internet coverage to 93% of rural households and businesses in the region and to all 102 Southland schools. 

Open and honest approach to customer service

Woosh’s head office and sales and support team are based in Newmarket, Auckland and the company has stores in Auckland and Invercargill. Woosh constantly receive accolades for their great customer service and rated top in the 2011 CANSTAR ADSL Broadband Awards for Customer Satisfaction. 

Looking to the future

As new data hungry devices, such as iPads, continue to provide impetus to the worldwide demand for broadband, Woosh believe their network and spectrum are well placed to benefit from the global deployment of 4G networks. Those 4G networks are seen as complementary to fibre rollouts.
